How it works:
- Lead should text in first and last name to the club's inbound sms number. The text that they enter in the message will be added as a new lead in InTouch.
- Inbound leads will be seen on the Homepage under Incoming Leads to be Assigned in the Text column
- To find these leads, go to Opportunities > Incoming Leads
- To view just Text leads, use the Contact Method filter under Viewing and select Text Message
Things to know:
- This feature is designed to get NEW leads and will therefore not create a duplicate lead. If the mobile number someone is texting from is already associated with a lead, member or in staff credentials, a new lead will not be created. The lead will also not receive a response text.
Troubleshooting:
- Is the mobile number of the person texting already in the system as a lead, member or staff credentials?
- Can also get the date and time and mobile number of the person texting and check the Twilio logs to see if it was received and if an outgoing message was sent.
FAQ:
Q: What if I want incoming leads to be assigned to a specific sale staff? For example, staff goes an event. Any leads that text in from that event belong to that staff person.
A: One option is to assign each sales person a code (like 508) and tell the lead to text in the code along with their first and last name. For example, "Text your first and last name plus the promotional code 508 to 910-555-1234 to be entered in a drawing for a free month membership". What you'll see in InTouch is the name 'Joe Smith 508'. As a manager, you'll know to assign that 508 lead to Katie. Once it's been assigned, Katie can update Joe's last name to Smith instead of Smith 508.
