InTouch Guest Kiosk Setup

Kiosk setup has two parts:

  1. Customization of the kiosk application in FollowUp (including the creation of kiosk keys that link your iPad(s) to your club's InTouch)
  2. Setup of the iPad itself (or other device. The kiosk was designed for (and supported on) an iPad, but should still work on other devices as well).

Step 1: Set Up Your Application

  1. Check out our Kiosk User Guide if this is your club's first kiosk. This Guide will walk you through adding in your Guest Waiver wording as well as other customization options.

Step 2: Set Up Your iPad

  1. Connect your iPad to Wi-Fi (Click here for Apple's instructions on how to do this)
    1. Click here for our recommended network settings. It's highly recommended that you connect your iPad to a secured network. The number one issue with kiosks is a poor wireless connection.
  2. Create your Kiosk Invitation Keys in FollowUp. A kiosk key links an iPad to an InTouch site. They are one-time use only (meaning you can't enter it more than once). Keys get stored within your browser settings until you clear your browser's cache/cookies. Create two keys per iPad to start.
    1. In your FollowUp application, go to Admin > Kiosk (note: Kiosk is only visible for clubs with a kiosk license and those with permissions to Edit their kiosk)
    2. At the bottom of the screen, select Manage Kiosks to see your current list of keys
    3. Select + New Kiosk* on the left hand side of the screen to add in a new key. Give it a name and Save. (If you do not have a + New Kiosk button, see Kiosk Permissions section below)
  3. Open Safari and go to https://app.intouchfollowup.com/kiosk/
  4. Enter in a Kiosk Invitation Key you created above and then select Next
  5. Add (pin) the kiosk webpage to your iPad Home Screen for easy access
  6. After you pin the web page to your home screen, the very first time you time open it, you typically need to enter in a new kiosk invitation key. Keys are one-time use only so you won't be able to re-use the one already entered.

Below are some addition iPad settings that several clubs have found helpful:

  1. Use Guided Access to lock down the kiosk application
  2. Enable the Accessibility Shortcut
  3. Turn off MultiTasking Gestures if you want to prevent them from leaving your app
  4. Turn off Auto-Correction

Kiosk Permissions

Whomever is logged into FollowUp will need the Kiosk: Edit setting enabled in their Permission Role. If you have the ability to edit permissions, you can enable this setting for your role and then log out/back in to see the change.
